Acceleration describes the rate at which an object is increasing or decreasing its velocity. In the example below the acceleration of the wrist can be seen. The graph indicates that the wrist was traveling at a steady rate going across the strings and back. The large dip in the acceleration is when the wrist is changing direction. You can also clearly see the oval shape traced by the wrist motion, and that the flexion of the wrist preceded the motion of the bow. |
